Visita de la Asociación de Productores del Valle de las Caderechas.
EPDF.- Una asociación de burgaleses ha visitado algunas plantaciones de manzana en Lleida, acompañados por un fragatino, Ramón Sorolla, con la finalidad de conocer las ventajas que tienen, en los frutales de pepita, el eje central y la palmeta frente a las tradicionales en vaso.
Hablamos con José Ignacio Velasco, gerente de la Asociación de productores del Valle de Las Caderechas, que nos cuenta que promueven actividades relacionadas con la producción y comercialización de los dos cultivos principales de su zona: las manzanas y las cerezas . En este caso, han realizado una visita de fin de semana para que los asociados conozcan plantaciones de manzana. El anfitrión de la cita has sido Ramón Sorolla al que conocen porque ha realizado varios cursos de poda en Burgos tamién promovidos por ellos. Además de las manzanas visitaron algunas fincas de melocotones de Fraga, aunque el melocotón no es lo suyo . Por sus características especiales los manzanos del valle de Caderechas están todos en vaso, y con esta visita los productores burgaleses han podido conocer la revolución que supuso en esta zona las sustitución del vaso en los cultivos de pepita.
A 800 metros sobre el nivel del mar, el Valle de Las Caderechas tiene una muy buena cereza tardía que recogen cuando los demás ya la hemos terminado la cosecha. Es una fruta con un olor y sabor muy particulares muy apreciada donde se conoce. Antes de la cereza ya eran conocidos por la manzana reineta. Una manzana también muy especial, muy apreciada en el País Vasco. Tanto la cereza como la manzana están avaladas con un Sello de Calidad, y un Reglamento de Uso que garantiza unas condiciones de producción y envasado.
La mayoría de productores asociados son agricultores a tiempo parcial, y la practica totalidad de las fincas estan en torno a las dos hectáreas, pero gracias a un producto diferenciado ligado a un territorio y a una manera de hacer, han conseguido posicionarse.
